🟨 COURSE BACKGROUND
J.O.I.™ was developed in 2012 by Ms.Simpson while working in the Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
The clinical environment involved treating military service members and Wounded Warriors with complex conditions including:

Traumatic brain injury (TBI)

Polytrauma and chronic pain

PTSD-related neuromuscular guarding

Amputations and phantom limb pain

Severe orthopedic and soft tissue injury
Traditional techniques were often not tolerated due to pain sensitivity and tissue complexity, leading to the development of a joint-centered treatment approach.
